Independiente Parque Centenario took a tight win away from home, beating Estrella Agronomía 1-0 in a match where both sides showed similar approaches, but the visitors had the right reactions at the right moment. On matchday 8 of Primera L - GBA Norte, it was one of those fixtures where a single lapse makes the difference, with no space handed out and no glaring mistakes, just the football of fine margins that separates winners from losers.
Centre-back Ismael Kowalczyk, at just twenty years of age, was a defensive beacon for Parque Centenario: a 7.6 rating that was justified in every intervention, every early read of the home side's attacking movement. Alongside him, Claudio Spada — another 7.6 — shut down the rear guard with the experience of his twenty-nine years. Giuliano Bustinza controlled the tempo from midfield, shifting the pace intelligently between the lines, while Edgardo Arrarte, with thirty-three years of pure know-how behind him, was constant on the right. For Estrella Agronomía, Néstor Aranzeta in goal did what he could with a 6.3 rating; Oscar Nieto, the Patagonian striker of thirty, found no room to trouble them. Alfredo Iturbe on the home right flank also could not break through the visitors' lines with any clarity. The match was tight, with not too much excitement from the dugout, two 4-4-2 sides who showed each other plenty of respect.
What remained on the surface was a result that was fair in its decisiveness but harsh on Estrella Agronomía, who at home could not turn their chances — if they had any — into an advantage. Parque Centenario head off with three points that keep them in the hunt, while the hosts will have to review why once again at their stadium they could not break the deadlock. These are the matches that decide championships.
