In England football is a Saturday ritual: a local ground, a pie at half-time and a club that has been there for generations. In ELDT you manage your own English club from the Fifth Division all the way up to the First Division, against real managers.
ELDT is a free, multiplayer online football manager: every club is run by a real person (leagues are filled with computer clubs while managers arrive). You build the squad, buy and sell in an auction-based transfer market, train your players, bring through youngsters from the academy and follow the matches live, with minute-by-minute commentary.
The England pyramid in ELDT
There are 341 leagues and 5,456 clubs across 5 divisions: First Division, Second Division, Third Division, Fourth Division, Fifth Division. Every league has 16 clubs and the pyramid grows by four: 1 league in the First Division, 4 in the Second Division, 16 in the Third Division, 64 in the Fourth Division and 256 in the Fifth Division.
Some of the clubs starting in the First Division: Gravesend Borough, March Colliery, Worcester Harriers, Cobham Corinthians, Larkfield Rovers, Atherton Wanderers, Bermondsey Amateurs, Selsey Old Boys, Pershore Sports, Stowmarket Wanderers.
And in the Fifth Division, where new managers start, you will come across clubs like Bourne Great Dynamos, Saltash Swifts, Haywards Heath Sports, Woolwich Rangers, Wanstead North Villa, Deal Old Dynamos, Finchley FC, Sevenoaks Rangers.
How to reach the First Division
New managers start in the Fifth Division and need 4 promotions to reach the First Division. In every league the champions go up automatically, the runners-up play a one-off play-off against one of the sides finishing 9th to 12th in the league above, and 13th to 16th are relegated. Each season has 30 matchdays.
When England opens
England opens in ELDT on 7 January 2027, when Season 3 kicks off, together with the rest of Europe. League matches are played on Thursday and Saturday evenings from 19:00 local time, and the game is in English.
