RAYAN C.F.2 - 2Liga Once

A dramatic draw on matchday 4 of Primera H in GBA Oeste. Patriotas Constitución and Liga Once shared the points in a 2-2 that had everything: goals, clear chances, defensive lapses and that bittersweet feeling of coming away frustrated. At Patriotas' pitch, both sides set up in a balanced 4-4-2 that produced an open match, with no outright dominant side. The hosts were looking to pick up points in front of their own people, but the visitors did not come to give anything away and showed that with a competitive approach from the first minute. The hectic scoreline was a reflection of two teams who understand that in this league every point counts.

Patriotas had their moments to take the win, as did Liga Once, but neither was ruthless enough when the ball was in the box. Defenders on both sides made mistakes that made life easier for the opposition, something which in modern football is almost a sin. The home side played with more intensity in spells, especially when it felt the backing of its supporters, but Liga Once found space out wide and created danger every time it decided to do so. Midfield was a constant battleground, with recoveries, turnovers and quick transitions keeping the excitement alive.

The final result is fair if you consider the level shown by both. Patriotas takes a point at home, something worthwhile but which leaves the feeling that it could have been more; Liga Once leaves satisfied with an away draw, though it will probably regret not having shut up shop better defensively at certain moments. In the standings, both move forward slowly. There are still many matchdays to go and the competition in the western area is tight, with teams that will fight for every ball as if it were the last.
