Apolo fc1 - 3Estrella La Boca

Estrella La Boca came to Villa Soldati and took the afternoon. The visitors won three to one in even conditions, with two teams who came out to play balanced football and ended up unbalanced by the away side’s efficiency. CJ Villa Soldati had chances to make more of it, but the La Boca men were more precise when they got to goal and that, in the end, was the difference. Ezequiel Coelho, a 24-year-old striker from San Juan who arrived at the academy as almost a kid with nothing, scored a goal that let the home side dream for a few minutes. But it was not enough.

Nene Salvini’s rating, a 35-year-old centre-back with a lifetime in football, confirmed what was seen on the pitch: a defender who still reads the game as few do at his age. With a 7.5 rating, he was solid. Gustavo Zarate out on the left flank also showed up in the positive statistics, with 7.3 and providing the full-back play the visiting side needed. The goals came from several angles: Renzo De Rossi, the 18-year-old Chilean youngster with that ambition youngsters have when they need to prove themselves, scored one. Lucca Beitia, a 37-year-old from Mendoza who has spent half a lifetime at Estrella La Boca, also scored. And Osvaldo Souto, a 23-year-old midfielder from Chaco with a rating of 7.2, wrapped up the scoring. Jonathan Sequeira, the 37-year-old midfielder from Mendoza who arrived in Buenos Aires almost without papers more than two decades ago, provided an assist but was shown a yellow card. His team-mate Coelho was also booked. It was a match where Villa Soldati were not beaten disgracefully, but neither did they have the consistency to stop opponents who, especially in the second half, made the most of every error.
