Futbol Puchito2 - 0Estudiantes de florencio Varela

Argentino de Versalles dominated without sparkling on the pitch at Avenida Mitre and put Social y Deportivo Villa Riachuelo to the sword with a 2-0 that was thoroughly deserved, even if the visitors were never much of a threat. Both teams came out looking for balance with similar 4-4-2 line-ups, but the home side found the spaces more clearly. León Hoyos opened the scoring in the first half with a goal that allowed the team to breathe, while Roberto Chávez settled the contest after the break. Argentino de Versalles’ right-back had a productive afternoon: as well as stretching the lead, he picked up a yellow card for his defensive intensity, but he carried out his role without any problems.

Hector Krawczyk, the 36-year-old left winger who roamed the pitch with the experience of a man who has seen it all in Argentine football, was the most troublesome player for the visiting defence. His 7.7 rating reflected the problems he caused down the flank, although without quite being decisive on the scoresheet. For Villa Riachuelo, Francisco Lara in midfield tried to organise the play with his 6.7 rating, but the home central midfielders, especially Chacho Gutiérrez, with his 21 years and the solidity he showed, controlled the action with ease. Ian Zardini, the teenage goalkeeper for Argentino de Versalles, had little to do on an afternoon when the defence worked like a well-oiled machine.

The visitors left the pitch having created no clear chances. With Jorge Cordero (28 years, rating 6.1) unable to find any rhythm in the centre of midfield and Lucio Bauer (21 years) lacking incisiveness on the right, Villa Riachuelo faded away without protest. Argentino de Versalles, with all three points safely secured on matchday 12 of Primera L – GBA Sur, continue to pick up points at home where they are apparently a difficult side to beat.
