Federación Constitución1 - 0Reservas Boedo

Federación Constitución took a deserved victory against Reservas Boedo on matchday eighteen of the Primera L de CABA, in a match where both sides deployed similar systems but the home side ended up being more effective in the moments that mattered. It was a close contest, one of those where finishing becomes the decisive factor, and in this case the difference lay in Federación Constitución’s ability to make their chances count, while Boedo left empty-handed despite having their opportunities.

The four-defender, four-midfielder and two-forward setup used by both sides produced a scrappy match in the middle of the pitch, where the battle for the ball was constant and space was at a premium. Reservas Boedo came with youth in midfield, with Elías Bazzani, just twenty-two, trying to organise the play from the central area, but Federación Constitución managed to neutralise those efforts with a solid defensive structure. Fabián Nieto, the visiting left-back aged twenty-nine, had moments to win back the ball on his flank, but he found no continuity in Boedo’s attack to create real danger towards Lucas Domínguez, who in the home goal got through the game without needing spectacular interventions.

The winning goal came without the exact details of the move being recorded, but it was clear that Federación Constitución knew how to take advantage of a chance that Boedo could not break up. Stefano Gómez, the right-back of just eighteen from Tucumán, was a standout in his attacking sector and contributed to the goal with his presence there. Misael Buffoli, the left winger who is around twenty-seven and brings his Mendoza experience, was also involved in building the home side’s attacking play. For his part, Víctor Retegui in Boedo’s back line tried to hold firm with the resources of someone who has known marking duties since youth, but the home attackers ended up being more clinical.

Lorenzo Carrizo, the twenty-six-year-old striker who leads Federación Constitución’s attack, was a constant reference point in the visitors’ box, although he did not need any acrobatics to finish. The pressure applied by the home side in the closing stages did not allow Boedo to respond with any greater composure, and so Federación Constitución took the three points in a match decided by efficiency rather than by the clear quality of the football on show.
