Reservas Boedo2 - 1Federación Constitución

Reservas Boedo beat Federación Constitución in a match where both sides set up in balanced fashion, but the home team knew how to make better use of its resources. The final 2-1 on matchday three of the Primera L de CABA reflects a deserved victory, earned at home with the security that comes from playing in front of their own supporters. The visitors arrived with intent but did not find the consistency to break down a system which, though not eye-catching, worked efficiently.

The first half was marked by tactical caution. Víctor Retegui in the Boedo centre-back line looked solid, winning his aerial duels without any excess. Ian Zurita down the left for the home side had space to get forward, but his contribution was more defensive than attacking, a task that demanded concentration against Federación's attacks. The attacking turn came through Fabián Nieto, who at 29 still has that sharpness to appear in scoring positions: he netted one of the afternoon's goals, showing that the left-back remains useful in both phases. Rodolfo Prieto up front for Boedo looked to press the opposition build-up, although his effectiveness in the final third was moderate, with a rating of 7.4 that speaks of a solid display without flashes of brilliance.

Federación Constitución were not intimidated. Rodolfo Viani, the 19-year-old striker, had the nous to score at some point in the match, showing the promise that brought him from Comodoro Rivadavia. Midfielder Levi Jablonski distributed the play from a holding role and even provided an assist, fulfilling his role as a pillar in midfield. However, the visitors could not sustain their attacking pressure and their defenders were unable to prevent Boedo from extending the lead. Chacho Espinosa, the veteran 33-year-old striker who arrived years ago not knowing where he would sleep, sealed the result with the goal that secured all three points for the home side. The Primera L de CABA is beginning to take shape, and Reservas Boedo are already racking up wins.
