Club Atlético Villa Obrera1 - 0Consejero del Amor FC

Atlético Escobar secured a narrow but deserved victory over Consejero del Amor FC at the home stadium, in a match valid for matchday 5 of the Primera H of GBA Sur. The final 1-0 sums up fairly well what was a contest in which both teams opted for similar approaches, but where the home side proved more effective at the key moments. Consejero del Amor FC were not poor, but they lacked that bit of clarity needed to really trouble the opposition goal. Atlético Escobar controlled the tempo, managed the spaces, and when the chance came, they did not forgive.

The winning goal came in a match where clear chances were few and far between. Both lined up in a 4-4-2 without any great ambition to surprise the opponent, which led to a rather tactical game in which the midfielders were key to breaking lines. The home defence was solid, with no major scares, while in attack Atlético Escobar found just the right gaps to create danger. Consejero del Amor FC had their opportunities but did not make the most of them with any real clarity. The away setup worked defensively but lacked creativity in the build-up, which limited their attacking options.

The result leaves Atlético Escobar with three vital points in the section, although there is still much to improve in terms of attacking output. For Consejero del Amor FC, this defeat hurts because the team were in a position to at least bring back a draw, but the details ended up carrying the day. In a league as competitive as the Primera H of GBA Sur, those points dropped on the road often come back to bite later on. The home side made the most of their pitch advantage, nothing more than that, but in football that is enough.
