Club Atlético Sportivo Colonia Sur2 - 2Ferro Villa Crespo

Federación Caballito and Ferro Villa Crespo shared the points in a match where both sides refused to give an inch. The 2-2 draw was the fair result of a contest without major tactical differences, where both balanced 4-4-2s produced a goal fest that left more questions than answers. In La Matanza, with the home side enjoying the advantage of the pitch, neither squad managed to impose its volume or control the pace of the game on a sustained basis.

The first half was a non-event, with both teams sizing up the ground without committing too much in attack. The home side tried to make the most of home advantage, but Ferro Villa Crespo arrived with defensive organisation and good judgement in transition. The goals came later, when fatigue and certain spaces left by both defences allowed the forwards room to breathe. Federación Caballito went ahead on the scoreboard, but the visitors always found a way to level it. Ball circulation was decent on both sides, without ever becoming suffocating. The midfielders did the basics in terms of holding their shape and getting play moving, nothing more.

What is worrying for the home side is having conceded two goals at home when they were the ones expected to bring the intensity. Ferro Villa Crespo went away with the feeling of having earned a valuable point, which is no small thing for an away side that dug in. In the table, Federación Caballito are still looking for consistency in their Primera H - GBA Sur: the numbers do not lie when it comes to building a winning side. For both, matchday 5 represents a missed opportunity to move closer to the frontrunners. The draw leaves the bittersweet taste of what might have been and never was.
