AA Villa del Parque Reserva1 - 1Aurora de Coghlan

Villa del Parque could not break the deadlock at home, and Aurora de Coghlan took away a draw that sounds like a victory depending on how you look at it. The 1-1 in matchday 16 of Primera L GBA Sur was a game between two sides that came out with similar approaches, both in 4-4-2, both looking for control without taking too many risks. The home side had its moments, the visitors did too, and in the end neither could tip the balance enough to take the three points.

Tiziano Fernández, Villa del Parque’s left winger, was the man who put the home side on the scoresheet with a goal that helped round off a decent afternoon’s work despite being booked. At just twenty, the youngster fulfilled his role without any grand ambitions. At the other end, Aurora replied with Enrique Trillini, who levelled the match with a goal that allowed the away side to leave the South with something positive. Trillini, twenty-four years old and with experience built up since his early days in Resistencia, showed why he remains a reliable attacking option. Central midfielder Gino Trentin, who at twenty-nine is still a functional piece in Aurora’s midfield, controlled the tempo without letting the opposition impose theirs. Víctor Pietrzak, the other visiting striker, twenty-one years old, offered a presence but could not make his chances count.

The truth is that both sides took something different from the draw. Villa del Parque failed to make home advantage count to build an advantage that might have proved decisive, while Aurora earned a point away from home without being dominant. In the table, the result leaves both sides in the same situation: neither up nor down, drifting through the middle of the competition. For the next matchday, both will need to find an extra gear that did not emerge this time.
