Belgrano Villa Crespo1 - 1Unión Once

Belgrano Villa Crespo and Unión Once shared the points in a match where both teams cancelled each other out with similar approaches. The final 1-1 summed up an evenly balanced game, with no major disparities, in which both sides had their moment to claim victory but neither was clinical enough to break the deadlock. In Primera I of GBA Norte, matchday 5, these kinds of results often leave both sets of fans with mixed feelings.

Gonzalo Simoni opened the scoring for the home side with a goal that allowed Belgrano Villa Crespo to dream of taking all three points. The 21-year-old forward, born in Resistencia two decades ago, took advantage of a clear chance and converted it with that 7.2 rating confirming he is in good form. But Unión Once did not give up. Omar Sarmiento, the 25-year-old visiting central midfielder who developed on the dirt pitches of Greater Buenos Aires, found the equaliser with a goal that arrived when the match needed a shake-up. The assist from Juan Hoyos, the 29-year-old right-back whose experience shows in every run, was key to the move. Darío Zaccaro tried to keep Belgrano Villa Crespo connected down the right with his 7.0 rating, while Bastian Zacarías, solid at the back with his 6.5, provided an assist that almost put the home side back in front.

The draw, then, was fair. Neither of the two sides managed to break the balance established by the two 4-4-2 formations from the outset. Belgrano Villa Crespo were left frustrated at failing to capitalise on their early lead; Unión Once, meanwhile, could be content with rescuing a point away from home. In a division where results are decided by fine margins, this sharing of the points keeps hope alive on both sides, although neither will have left the stadium completely satisfied.
