Indep. Agronomía1 - 0Estudiantes de florencio Varela

Independiente Agronomía took the three points on matchday 13 of Primera L - GBA Sur with a narrow win against Social y Deportivo Villa Riachuelo. The 1-0 was the outcome of a match in which both teams lined up in 4-4-2 shapes with little in the way of attacking ambition, a tight contest decided by fine margins and where the home side’s class ultimately tipped the balance. The goal arrived at some point in the second half, enough for Agronomía to claim a victory that was by no means convincing but certainly effective.

The hosts had in Raúl Villari, the 21-year-old Bahía left winger, one of their best attacking assets. With a rating of 7.6 and despite carrying a yellow card that limited him towards the end, Villari caused danger down his flank. Bautista Pini, the 27-year-old Mendoza full-back with an identical rating, also carried out his defensive duties without any issues. Víctor Villa at centre-back, only 20 but solid, and Pipa Rizzo up front, the 32-year-old Patagonian veteran striker who still holds a 7.5 rating, formed a side that prioritised order over tactical sparkle.

Villa Riachuelo found no attacking answers. Fabián Pedraza, the 17-year-old centre-back, had to deal with the hosts’ onslaught in a defence that managed only 6.5. Gerardo Lazcano, the 36-year-old winger with a rating of 6.0, was overpowered by Agronomía’s defensive solidity. The visitors ended up strangled, with no space to build play. Walter Brunelli in the home midfield kept things in order, doing enough to ensure the three points stayed at home. This was not a match for deep analysis: it was battleground football, where the side that managed its energy best took the win.
