Vet. Núñez0 - 1AD Palermo Hollywood

Veteranos de Núñez came up against a visiting side that knew how to take its chances on matchday 10 of the Primera I de CABA. AD Palermo Hollywood took the win 1-0 in a match where both balanced approaches produced a scrappy game, with not too much in the way of excitement, but where efficiency ultimately proved decisive. Fernando Aldama's goal after the break made the difference in a match the home side failed to turn in its favour despite playing at home.

The Núñez side tried to hold firm through their midfielders, where Ángel Barrios moved the ball without being decisive, while Norberto León looked to create from the attacking area. But Palermo Hollywood, with figures such as Lorenzo Gándara in defence and Rodrigo Arechavaleta in the attack on the right, found spaces to make the breakthrough. Iñaki Granado on the left was solid in containment, and the right winger was constant in his forward runs. Manu Gareca, the Chilean player in the visiting side, was alert in the middle. Mario Santi up front for Veteranos picked up a yellow card that limited his influence in the closing minutes.

For Veteranos, the shortfall was clear: in this type of even match, the details matter. Aldama, with his 7.2 rating and that goal to his name, carved out a place in the memory of a team that could not find the answer. Barrios and his team-mates put in a decent but insufficient display; both forwards' ratings hovered around 6.6, a sign of an attack that was not clicking. Palermo Hollywood, by contrast, found in their defence and midfield the pillars to take all three points away from home. A victory that, in its proper context, carries more weight than a distant triumph.
