Villa del Parque2 - 1Argentinos de Recoleta

Villa del Parque gave nothing away. In a match where the tactical plans were virtually identical, the home side ended up taking the victory with authority in Primera I de CABA, matchday 10. The 2-1 reflects a fair win, perhaps even a little more than fair if you consider that the home side managed the pace of the contest with greater clarity. Argentinos de Recoleta had its moments of reaction but never quite became a real threat, aside from isolated flashes that were not enough to overturn a result that had already been decided in the essentials.

Manuel Müller, with his 36 years of experience, was the first to break the deadlock. The Villa del Parque striker did his job without fuss, scoring a goal that settled a big part of the contest. Sasha Amezaga, a 34-year-old midfielder with plenty of experience, added a second goal that seemed to seal the matter. Argentinos replied through Mauro Rossini away from home, also from midfield, but it came too late. Rossini had a decent game, scored but was booked, a sign that he was right on the edge of discipline. The full-backs and centre-halves on both sides, including Roberto Hartmann on the left for the home side and Pichu Michel in the back line, kept the shape with no major alarms. Leonardo Montero in the goal of Villa del Parque did not need to do anything extraordinary.

What lingered is that Argentinos played its game, set out a balanced 4-4-2 like its rival, but did not find the intensity or precision to punish a home team that was direct and effective. Villa del Parque made the most of its chances; the visitors wasted theirs. At the bottom end of the table, these points the home side gathered at home are worth gold. Argentinos will need to find answers quickly if it wants to keep fighting.
