Match report
Club de Floresta Este did not have to suffer too much to see off Reservas Boedo on matchday 16 of Primera L de CABA. A 2-0 that sounds comfortable because it was, although the match unfolded with both sides looking for a similar tactical balance. The home side made better use of the spaces and found the net on two occasions, enough to settle matters. Maximiliano Artola opened the scoring with a finish that eased the pressure on the home side, and Ángel Irala sealed the win when the visitors no longer had any arguments left to respond. Two forwards, one Uruguayan and one Argentine, who at 22 and 28 years old respectively know where the goal is when it matters.
The home side stood firm in a solid defence where Aaron Gareca turned in a 7.1 rating, shutting down the visitors' advances without major trouble. Horacio Sayago, the 30-year-old Paraguayan full-back with more nous than pace, did his job down the left flank without any surprises. Juan Ramírez, the Colombian midfielder of just 20 years old, showed experience in his defensive work from the right, winning duels that allowed Floresta Este to control the tempo. Reservas Boedo found no depth in their attacks. Chacho Espinosa, the 33-year-old veteran who has been in the picture for years, barely caused any concern. Fabián Nieto on the left and Elías Bazzani in central midfield completed a side with no attacking compass.
The afternoon was efficient for Floresta Este rather than flashy. Two goals scored without Reservas Boedo creating any real danger means the home side did its job on home soil without wasting it. Irala picked up a yellow card as well as the goal, Gareca another, and Floresta Este take three points that bring them closer to their tournament aims. For Boedo, the task is to review why, away from home, they could not compete on equal terms.
