Argentinos de Recoleta0 - 1Atlético Villa Chiche

Argentinos de Recoleta could not break down the visiting defence and went down 1-0 against CR Barracas in a match where both teams opted for similar set-ups but the visitors were more efficient when it mattered. The only goal came from Misael Zanini, who made the most of one of the few clear chances the southern side created over the ninety minutes. A fair result in a tight match where neither side wanted to take unnecessary risks.

The home side deployed its balanced 4-4-2 with the intention of controlling the game from midfield, but the defensive pairing of Lucca Galli and Bruno Varisco for Barracas was solid. Galli, with a rating of 7.7, was a constant presence in the box and nullified the attempts created by Argentinos. Maxi Volpi at right-back for the home side did his defensive job without overcommitting, while Agustín Riquelme in the centre of defence tried to organise things, although he could not avoid the vulnerability. Franco Sotelo on the right wing did not find the space to make a difference. At the other end, Gustavo Trevisan in the visitors’ midfield popped up at the right moments, and Barracas’ marking worked. Zanini’s goal, having already been booked, sums up the visitors’ efficiency: little, but lethal.

For Argentinos, there is frustration at not turning home advantage into an edge. Riquelme received a yellow card in a match where the disorder from both sides was minimal. Barracas, meanwhile, leave Recoleta with all three points and the feeling of a side that knows how to manage exactly what is needed. With a rating of 7.1, Ian Talamonti also came close to a booking but it was Zanini’s attacking efficiency that made the difference. A win that keeps CR Barracas in the running in the Primera División de CABA.
