AD Belgrano R3 - 2Sportivo Almagro Norte

AD Belgrano R prevailed 3-2 against Sportivo Almagro Norte in a match that had everything: goals, intensity and enough adrenaline to justify the ninety minutes. The hosts won at home on matchday 5 of Primera H in GBA Oeste, but it was not a win without merit. The visitors came back to level the score more than once and forced the Belgranistas to battle back when it seemed the control was slipping away. Both teams went with similar set-ups, two banks of four and a balanced mindset, which allowed for a goal-filled spectacle rather than a tight tactical contest.

The difference on the pitch was made by the Belgranistas' ability to find answers when they were most needed. Sportivo Almagro Norte did not come to make up the numbers: they pressed, created awkward situations and showed that the position in the table can be misleading. The visitors played with personality, although in the end they lacked precision at decisive moments. AD Belgrano R knew how to make the most of the space left by the northern side, with an attacking rhythm that flowed in the spells where they had the most control of the ball.

What is curious about the result is that neither team fell apart despite the blows. When one went ahead, the other responded almost immediately. That speaks of character in both squads, although AD Belgrano R clearly finished the match better when it mattered most. For Sportivo Almagro Norte, the bitter taste of leaving empty-handed and with two goals against is hard to bear, but they can take the feeling that they competed on equal terms against a rival who was more clinical today. In the next matchday, both will know where to strike.
