Match report

Real Abasto Reservas took a deserved victory at Parque Chacabuco's pitch, in a match where both sides approached it with similarly matched plans, but where the home side made the best of their moments. The final 2-1 reflects a tight contest, the sort where the result could have gone either way had the details been different. El Vencedor de Parque Chacabuco were not beaten by inferiority, but by Real Abasto's ability to be more clinical in the moments that matter.

Wilfredo Weinberg, the 28-year-old centre-half who was born in Resistencia, got on the scoresheet and was the visible face of a defence that knew how to stay firm when needed. Alongside him, Gonzalo Zindato did his job solidly at right-back, one of those veterans who, at thirty-seven, know every inch of the game. In midfield, Cayetano Ballarini moved the ball well as a holding midfielder, while Tomi Aramburu, the sixteen-year-old youngster from Mendoza, showed bite down the left flank. Adriano Landa scored the visitors' goal from the wing, and Toto Bisi, at thirty-three, contributed an assist that kept the match alive, although he ended up booked.

For Real Abasto Reservas, this victory on matchday 9 of Primera I GBA Sur closes a week where the details turned into points. Esteban Peñaloza, the striker from Merlo, was part of that structure that allowed the home side to win without needing to shine extraordinarily. El Vencedor de Parque Chacabuco leave with the feeling of having competed, but they will know that in competitions like this, competing is not always enough. The three points stayed at home.
