corcho junior2 - 0Juventud La Boca

El Porvenir de Montserrat showed no mercy on matchday 9 of Primera I - GBA Sur. In a match where both squads opted for safety first with balanced 4-4-2 line-ups, the home side ended up winning 2-0 against Juventud La Boca, sealing a victory without any major scares. The difference was not only in the final score but also in the ability to take the chances they created over the ninety minutes, something the visitors never managed to deal with at any point.

Calleo Tognoli was the standout figure in the win. The twenty-two-year-old midfielder on the right scored a goal and provided an assist, showing a clear understanding with his teammates around him. His attacking partner, Mateo Barrios, also found the back of the net with his trademark power. At the back, Genaro Zielinski kept things solid at right-back, while Hector Greco —the left-footer who arrived almost by chance some years ago— carried out his role without any fuss down the left flank. Juventud La Boca came with Alexis Beizama up front, but the twenty-two-year-old forward could not find any space. Claudio Pomilio, now thirty-two, tried his luck from the right wing without much fortune, and Cataldo Bernardo in midfield failed to set the tempo his side needed to grow into the match.

The result is a little harsher than the performance itself, although El Porvenir played with greater clarity. For Juventud La Boca, the duty now is to respond in their next outings; creating almost nothing away from home is a warning they cannot ignore if they intend to challenge near the top of the table.
