CA Villa Adelina
3 - 1El Fortín de Coghlan
Match report
La Verdad de Paternal comfortably overcame El Fortín de Coghlan on their Primera H de CABA debut, in an afternoon when the home side knew how to control the tempo of the match and punish the visitors’ defensive weaknesses. The final 3-1 was a fair reflection of what happened on the pitch: one team found its rhythm early, while the other was never able to find the stability needed to compete on equal terms. Both approaches were similar in structure, with 4-4-2 formations and balanced mentalities, but the difference lay in execution and emotional control over the 90 minutes.
La Verdad de Paternal exerted effective control in midfield and made the most of their chances. The home side found space out wide and produced quick transitions that put the visitors’ defence under pressure on more than one occasion. El Fortín de Coghlan, for their part, tried to respond with their usual weapons but lacked attacking depth and showed clear cracks when defending in transition. A consolation goal in the second half allowed them to maintain some hope, but it was never enough to seriously trouble the home side.
The result leaves La Verdad de Paternal with their opening three points and some satisfaction at the solidity they showed, although without any particular flourishes to inspire admiration. For El Fortín de Coghlan, this defeat is an early blow that will force them to make adjustments quickly if they are to compete in a league that will not forgive many performances like Saturday’s. Matchday 1 made it clear that the home side have the tools to challenge, but that the visitors’ hopes will have to be rebuilt from scratch.
