Almagro dominated from the off at the Estadio Francisco Gabrielli and showed it with a superiority that was reflected on the final scoreline: 2-0 against Deportivo Constitución Veteranos. The home side, with its 4-4-2 set-up and balanced mentality, found just the right spaces to hurt an opponent who arrived away from home with the same structure but without being able to counter the home side's ball circulation. Ramón Spadafora orchestrated the play from central midfield with a rating of 7.7, distributing passes that always found moving receivers. Deportivo Constitución Veteranos, despite having Tomás Bianco in the intermediate defensive role, failed to break Almagro's shape or generate sustained danger in Almagro's box.
The first half was a neat display from the home side. Adrián Palomeque, the 26-year-old left winger, applied constant pressure down his flank and was actively involved in building the attacking play. The visitors' defence, with Santiago Bianchi as the left winger, was exposed on several occasions. Yair Jiménez, only 16 but showing defensive maturity from right-back, knew how to contain the raids and also joined the attack with well-judged runs forward. The defence, with Yoel Carrasco at centre-back, showed solidity, limiting the attempts of Milton Filippa, Deportivo Constitución's young striker who, at just 17, tried to exploit any space, though without fortune.
Walter Botti, the 29-year-old striker who scored one of Almagro's goals, was the man to deliver the coup de grâce. In a match where Almagro controlled the tempo and Deportivo Constitución could barely respond, the home side's goals arrived without much suspense. Botti, with his experience and reading of the game, took advantage of the spaces created by the collective performance. Yair Jiménez also got on the scoresheet, adding his goal on an afternoon when the youthful right-back was a key figure both defensively and going forward. The yellow cards came late in the match, with Adrián Palomeque booked for Almagro and Milton Filippa for the away side, when the game was already decided.
The finish was a formality. Deportivo Constitución Veteranos, with Tomás Bianco looking to sort things out in the air but without any real attacking clarity, never created any clear goalscoring chances. Almagro controlled matters without needing to force the issue. The two-goal lead allowed the home side to see it through without drama, completing an afternoon of organised work where the football flowed one way: the team that went out to play and knew how to finish the job.
