Match report

N. Estrella Boedo took a win that could have been more comfortable than it ended up being. On the pitch in Boedo, against Unión Once, the home side won 2-1 in a match where both teams set out in much the same way: a balanced 4-4-2 that turned into a battle with not too much tactical clarity. The result was fair in terms of the game, though the visitors had chances to take something from the South.

Saúl Berasategui was the decisive man of the afternoon. The 25-year-old Chilean striker, with a rating of 8.4, scored two goals and was virtually unplayable at key moments. While Unión Once found a threat in Valentino Zoppi, a centre-half who was bold enough to push forward and head home in the home penalty area, the youngsters of N. Estrella Boedo showed consistency: Víctor Serrano on the left did his job despite picking up a yellow, and Tato Etcheverry in midfield showed flashes of creativity without quite breaking the lines. Diego Bevilacqua in goal was not tested to any great extent, but his reading of the game meant the defence, with Eduardo Sacchetti as a 18-year-old young centre-back, was not left exposed at moments of danger.

What Unión Once left behind was the feeling of having gone far but without the judgement to finish the job. Zoppi discovered that you can also attack from defence, but that was not enough to spoil the Boedo afternoon. The Boedo side made the most of home advantage, though without overusing it; they were simply more clinical when they needed to be. Berasategui, with those two goals, becomes an unavoidable figure in this area of the pitch in Primera I del GBA Norte.
