Deportivo Constitución Veteranos were left disappointed at home. N. Estrella Flores came as the visitors and took a victory which, far from being undeserved, was the result of greater ruthlessness at key moments. The final 3-2 scoreline summed up an open game of football in which both balanced approaches left room for the side that made better use of mistakes to go away with all three points. The home side had chances aplenty but lacked the finishing touch in the final third.
Felipe Santini, Constitución’s Chilean winger, was perhaps his team’s best player: he scored one of the goals and maintained constant pressure in the build-up. Santiago Bianchi supported him in attack with a goal of his own, while Genaro Arriaga, the sixteen-year-old youngster who delivers crosses with remarkable precision, provided assists. But it was all in vain. N. Estrella Flores found an attacking leader in Raúl Retegui, the seventeen-year-old forward from Merlo, who knew how to read the spaces. Negro Bartoli, an experienced right-back, scored from his position. Joel Moya, a twenty-four-year-old centre-back, also got on the scoresheet. And that was the difference: Constitución’s defence failed to close the gaps when it mattered most.
Milton Filippa, a seventeen-year-old forward, provided an assist but got little else from the visiting side’s victory. Claudio Altzaga, the thirty-two-year-old central midfielder who brings years of experience, picked up a booking that leaves him under pressure heading into what comes next. For N. Estrella Flores, Thiago Jiménez was a rock in defence: a 7.4 rating, the highest on the pitch. Primera L de GBA Oeste rolls on, and Constitución will have to rebuild their home form if they want to climb the table.
