N. Estrella Flores and Deportivo Constitución Veteranos shared the points in a fixture that promised to be electric but ended up as an exercise in tactical caution. The goalless 0-0 was a true reflection of two teams who came not to lose, both opting for 4-4-2 formations with a balanced mindset, without unnecessary risks on the opening matchday of Primera L de GBA Oeste. There were no surprises or major scares in a match where defence prevailed over any attacking intent.
Joel Moya, the centre-back for N. Estrella Flores, who has just turned twenty-four, put in a solid display in the home defence, containing the surges coming from the visitors' front line. His 7.2 rating reflects responsible work, the kind of player who understands the game without any fuss. For Deportivo Constitución Veteranos, Felipe Santini, the twenty-seven-year-old Chilean attacking midfielder with a 7 rating, kept moving between the lines as he usually does, but without finding the space needed to really trouble them. The visiting side had its chances but lacked the finishing or the edge to turn them into goals.
What was clear is that both sides prioritised defensive solidity over attacking adventures. For N. Estrella Flores, it is a point gained at home, though they will have wanted more considering they had the relative dominance. For Deportivo Constitución Veteranos, still a long way from their own ground, the draw is not bad news when looking ahead. However, in these early matchdays where points matter, both will be left with the feeling of missed opportunities in a tactical battle where the goalless draw was the main story.
