Sportivo Brandsen Norte
2 - 2
River Plate
Match report
Brandsen Norte and Lomas de Zamora shared the points in a back-and-forth match in which neither managed to claim victory. The 2-2 draw at home for the Brandsen side was fair in a Primera F of the GBA Sur where both teams showed attacking ability but also defensive frailties. With identical 4-4-2 formations and balanced mindsets, what was lacking was judgement in the final third.
Gastón Lombardi opened the scoring for the hosts with a goal that reflected his attacking threat, a rating of 7.2 he backed up with his constant search for the opposition goal. Kevin Romiti, his 23-year-old striking partner, also found the net and kept the team in the contest. But Lomas de Zamora responded through the power of Carlos Mazur, who arrived at 24 with plenty of experience under his belt, and had in Gino Zambelli their sharpest reference in defence and attack. The visitors' right-back not only scored but also provided an assist, producing an almost complete afternoon despite being booked. Aníbal Trillini in the home defence completed the job with an assist that allowed Brandsen Norte to stay in the contest.
Yellow cards for Pepe Suárez and Lito Bonaventura at the back for the home side, along with Zambelli's for the visitors, marked a match where the intensity was there but without any overstepping the mark. Fernando Paz, with his 35 years of career, organised the back line for Lomas with the experience he has built up since Comodoro Rivadavia. The result left mixed feelings: both teams could have won, but neither was up to the task. A first matchday that promises more dynamism in the matchdays ahead.
