La Verdad de Coghlan2 - 0AD Palermo Hollywood

La Verdad de Coghlan did not have to work any magic to defeat AD Palermo Hollywood on matchday 8 of Primera I de CABA. A 2-0 victory that was built without fuss, with two teams setting out to play similar football, but where the difference lay in their finishing and a home defence that knew how to contain the visitors' attempts. Both sides opted for a balanced 4-4-2 formation, promising a match of evenly matched tactical approaches. However, La Verdad de Coghlan found in the details what Palermo Hollywood could not solve over the ninety minutes.

Sasha Loredo, the nineteen-year-old striker, scored one of the goals and was part of that equation which also included Walter Del Castillo and his attacking contribution. In midfield, Gianni Vidale fulfilled his role as the defensive stabiliser, displaying the calm reading of the game that characterises the twenty-two-year-old Colombian and which proves fundamental in matches where there are no constant bursts of action. Lalo Mendoza, twenty-nine years old and with veteran experience, also left his mark on the home performance, although he picked up a yellow card that means he will have to tread carefully next matchday. For the visitors, Indio Berti, the Uruguayan winger, was one of the few to create movement in attack, but he found no real space. Gianluca Ferreira, a thirty-three-year-old centre-back whose hands are already accustomed to this division, could not do enough to halt Coghlan's advance. Rodrigo Arechavaleta, at thirty-one, completed his defensive duties without shining.

For La Verdad de Coghlan, it was a victory that brought three points without unnecessary exertion. For AD Palermo Hollywood, the shortcoming is clear: away from home and unable to pose any real threat to Yanis Olivares, they ended up closer to failure than to causing any surprise.
