Villa del Parque2 - 0Vet. Núñez

CJ Villa del Parque had no major scares on the afternoon of matchday 8 in Primera I de CABA. Against Vet. Núñez, the home side settled matters comfortably in a fixture where the visitors arrived with no intention of upsetting the order. The final 2-0 neatly sums up the performance: a victory without drama, without the need for a comeback or last-minute scares. Manuel Müller, a 36-year-old striker with experience sewn into every movement, scored one of the goals and stamped his veteran mark, still finding space where others no longer see it. Both sides lined up in a 4-4-2, which promised a fairly conventional tactical battle, with no surprises. And so it proved: a well-ordered match where neither side tried to revolutionise anything.

The hosts had the control that comes with playing at home, though without the intensity that usually marks a side chasing something. Hector Bruschi in central midfield, with a rating of 7.5, was the one directing affairs from the middle, although he picked up a yellow card that will have to be watched in future matchdays. Thiago Zalla on the right, at 34 years old, fulfilled his role as an experienced full-back without fuss. José Brignoli on the right wing also saw yellow during the match. The defence held firm: Nene Padín in the visitors’ goal could do little about the chances Villa del Parque created, though he was not faced with a barrage of shots either.

Vet. Núñez left the pitch without any attacking ideas that caused much concern. Leonel Bisi, a 32-year-old right winger, and Galo Arestizabal on the left barely posed any threat. The visitors paid the price for a trip lacking intensity and for a side that, from the first minute, knew it would have to deal with a rival that kept its shape. For CJ Villa del Parque, the victory is a solid one as they continue to climb the table. For Núñez, the task is to rediscover a style that allows them to compete on equal terms.
