Sociedad Parque Chacabuco2 - 1Cooperativa Abasto

Sociedad Parque Chacabuco took a victory they knew how to justify against Cooperativa Abasto in a match where both teams opted for tactical caution. The final 2-1 reflected a home superiority that was not overwhelming but was consistent, with Lalo Ferreira the undisputed star of the contest. The twenty-year-old centre-back, who came through in Resistencia after being spotted playing in local friendlies, scored a goal and provided an assist that mattered more than his simple 7.7 rating. It is not often you see a defender take the reins of a match in this way, but Ferreira has that ability to appear where he is needed, both in his main role and at the moments when the team needed attacking drive.

Cooperativa Abasto were no pushovers. Simón Bartoli, the visiting centre-back who brings stories from Comodoro Rivadavia, scored his goal and showed that his thirty years have not taken away his appetite. Even so, the Parque Chacabuco side managed the tempo of the match better. Tadeo Biscardi on the left and Lucio Ulloa on the right did their defensive jobs without any scares, while Mauro Bardi, the thirtysomething striker, functioned more as a holding pivot than as a creator. The match was tight, as the result suggested, without frills but with the intensity demanded by Primera L del GBA Norte on matchday six.

What became clear is that Sociedad Parque Chacabuco have the human resources to fight at the top. Ferreira's youth and Axel Chaile at the back, combined with the experience of veterans like Bardi and Ulloa, create a balance that Cooperativa Abasto could not break down. For the visitors, this is a match they could have won if Bartoli had had greater attacking support. But that is football in these leagues: narrow margins and teams that know how to suffer when necessary.
