Reservas Floresta left no room for doubt on an afternoon in Oeste. With a convincing 4-1 win over Deportivo Constitución Veteranos in matchday 14, the home side showed that when everyone pulls together, the results speak for themselves. Both squads lined up in a 4-4-2 with balanced mentality, but the difference lay in Floresta’s ability to make the most of their chances while the visitors fell apart at the back. Maicol Montenegro and Benjamín Arrillaga, the home side’s two forwards, were goal-scoring machines: each found the net in an afternoon when the home team made its advantage count.
Hugo Sartori, a left-back of only 22 years old, was solid on his flank, while Enrique Puebla on the right showed the sort of experience that comes from being at the club for years. At the back, Máximo Garay was booked but held the line at the moments when Constitución tried to get back into the match. The visitors’ defence, with Zacarías Jiménez doing his job at right-back at the age of 37, had no answers. Rolando Toledo scored the consolation goal for the away side in what was little more than a pause in the rout; the 24-year-old right winger offered good attacking output but his teammates did not back him up. Jiménez provided an assist that at least stopped it being a complete write-off, but his age told when Floresta pressed on down the flanks.
The home side controlled the tempo at will and kept things in hand without needing any grand display. With this victory, Reservas Floresta continue to climb the Oeste table. Deportivo Constitución Veteranos, by contrast, will need to sort themselves out defensively because they will get nowhere playing like this, especially against a home side that is hard to stop when they have their act together.
