Match report
CR Parque Patricios and General Pueyrredón de Constitución played out a 2-2 draw that left both sides rueing what might have been. Two identical line-ups, two balanced approaches, and a match decided more by execution than tactical differences. Parque Patricios had home advantage, but it was not enough to take all three points from a matchday 8 that ended with the spoils shared equally in Primera I de GBA Oeste.
Samuel Tossi opened the scoring for the home side with a stunning goal that put Parque Patricios ahead. The experienced, composed 32-year-old midfielder found a way to the back of the net and applied pressure in the early stages. Pueyrredón’s response came through Nilo Artaza, the 25-year-old forward who showed he has a goalscoring instinct even away from home. Ezequiel Rotondi extended the home side’s lead with his goal, but Cacho Reyes, a mere 20-year-old left winger with the poise of a veteran, sealed the final draw. Axel Valli, a Patagonian centre-back aged around 31, was the brains of Parque Patricios’ defence and provided two assists that highlighted his class on the pitch. Rocco Grasso, the 23-year-old visiting goalkeeper raised in Corrientes, had plenty to do in a match where both sides created clear chances.
Yellow cards went to Rocco Grasso and Constantino Bertone for Pueyrredón, while Parque Patricios played without picking up any bookings. A result that leaves both sides with mixed feelings: for the home team, a missed opportunity; for the visitors, a point rescued away from home that is certainly valuable.
