Deportivo Constitución Veteranos took a deserved win from the pitch of Real Mataderos Reservas in a match where both balanced approaches produced a tight contest, though with clearer chances for the visitors. The final 2-1 reflects a fair victory for the Constitución side, who knew how to make the most of their better moments, while the home side could not sustain the parity it was chasing with its 4-4-2 formation. Mataderos controlled parts of the game but lacked penetration in the final third, and that was their undoing in a Primera L de GBA Oeste where every mistake is costly.
Dylan Pessina opened the scoring for the home side with a goal that seemed to put them on course for a positive result, set up by Pipa Quintana from the right. The 26-year-old midfielder did his job in the build-up, but it was not enough for Real Mataderos to hold onto the lead. Deportivo Constitución found their answers in the dynamism of Felipe Santini and the defensive solidity of Ricardo Schwartzman on the left. Central midfielder Tomás Bianco, 27, was the one who levelled matters before Santini himself turned the match around in the second half. Central midfielder Genaro Arriaga, just a 16-year-old youngster, was involved in the most delicate moments of the game, though he did receive a yellow card that will allow him to be available for the next matchdays.
For Mataderos, there is frustration at having had chances and not being able to convert them. Pessina, with a rating of 7.2, was contained when it mattered most. By contrast, Constitución Veteranos confirm that their balanced mentality allows them to be competitive away from home, and with fair merit they add three points that bring them closer to the top spots. Matchday 12 left the visitors more alive than the hosts.
