Sportivo Vicente López Norte
1 - 1No Sabemos Ganar
Match report
Sportivo Vicente López Norte and No Sabemos Ganar shared the points in a match where the two 4-4-2 line-ups cancelled each other out, with neither side able to impose their game on the pitch. The 1-1 draw was a fair reflection of a closely fought contest, with both teams having their moments but never managing to make their superiority count when they had it. The home side looked to make the most of playing at home, but No Sabemos Ganar arrived in GBA Norte with no intention of giving anything away.
Benicio Astigarraga, the 33-year-old left-back who grew up on local pitches, scored for Sportivo Vicente López Norte and showed the kind of experience that marks him out. With a rating of 7.2, he was involved in attack when his team needed him. Ronaldo Ortelli, the 24-year-old striker also brought up in the west, formed part of the home front line but could not turn his movements into goals. Santi Olivares, the 26-year-old left winger, had his moments of quality down the flank but the visitors put limits on him. For the visitors, Javier Sassi, the young 21-year-old striker who came from Comodoro Rivadavia, scored the equaliser with a rating identical to Astigarraga's: 7.2. Facundo Vivaldi, the 31-year-old Mendoza left winger with plenty of experience, tried to make the difference but found an organised defence. Vidal Vilas, the 31-year-old Tucumán playmaker, controlled the tempo with intelligence from midfield, while Mauricio Carranza, the 19-year-old full-back who comes from Merlo, provided an assist that made the visitors' goal possible.
The result leaves both teams in neutral territory. Sportivo Vicente López Norte could not make use of home advantage, but neither did they suffer too much. No Sabemos Ganar took away a valuable point, especially considering they were on the road. Matchday 2 of Primera G did not produce a winner, and both sides will have to improve in their next outing.
