Real Alcoholicos 990 - 1Lionel Messi el 10

At Real Alcohólicos' pitch, Atlético Benavidez took a win that hurts because it was deserved, even if neither side gave anything away. A 0-1 in matchday 2 of Primera G in GBA Norte, decided by the details, by that ability the away side has to find the goal when it matters most. Real Alcohólicos lined up in a balanced 4-4-2, looking to hold the result from early on, but Atlético Benavidez arrived with clear ideas and enough quality to break a system that, on paper, was solid.

Daniel Vélez, the 32-year-old central midfielder who comes from the rigours of the B Nacional, tried to be the heart of the home midfield but picked up an early yellow card, which forced him to play carefully for the rest of the match. Raúl Peñalva in central defence did his job without shining too much, while José Aldekoa on the left did not have the space he wanted to bring his game to life. At the other end, Atlético Benavidez found in Gianluca Zazzaroni, the 24-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder with a 7.6 rating, the key to creating danger. His movement between the lines unsettled the whole home defence. Damian Cantero on the right, only a youngster of 18 but with a 7.5 rating, showed tactical maturity. Adrián Avanzi at left-back was solid defensively and Jesús Insúa, another 18-year-old, had to grow up quickly against more experienced attackers.

The goal came without Real Alcohólicos making any glaring mistakes, simply because Benavidez was more clinical. Constantino Botti, the Bahía-born 35-year-old striker who still delivers in the box, was there when it mattered. A tight, tactical match, where both sides played responsibly but the away team had that extra bit of precision which, in the end, decides fixtures.
