Match report
Patriotas Almagro left no room for surprises on matchday 15 of Primera I GBA Oeste. With a solid performance and no great flashes of brilliance, the home side dispatched Atlético Palermo Hollywood FC 2-0, reflecting the difference in ability between the two squads. It was a comfortable victory, the sort where the visitors were never close to causing concern, with the home side’s superiority prevailing without needing to fully exert themselves. Both teams lined up in similar 4-4-2 formations with a balanced mentality, but Patriotas knew how to turn that tactical equality into an advantage.
Aaron Valentini, the 37-year-old central midfielder who has spent decades on the circuit, did his job without fuss: he covered spaces, cut off passing lanes and was never caught off guard. Alongside him, Valentino Hidalgo, just a 16-year-old youngster, showed the personality that characterises him in defence. Up front, Elías Villegas scored one of the goals with the composure of someone who knows his way around the box. Horacio Galván, the 19-year-old right winger, also found the back of the net on a day when the Almagro side operated like a well-oiled machine. Yoel Baldelli was booked but carried out his role of applying constant pressure.
For Atlético Palermo Hollywood, Julián Vitale tried to contain things as best he could from the back with a rating of 6.5, as did Sebastián Giménez at left-back. Andrés Tellini, the visiting forward, was left isolated and never managed to pose a genuine threat. The reality is that Palermo Hollywood had no arguments with which to contest the match. Patriotas Almagro continue to rack up victories consistently, while the visitors will need to take a deeper look at what led them to surrender so quickly against an opponent who played with the assurance of a side that had everything under control.
