CR Parque Patricios2 - 1Patriotas Almagro

CR Parque Patricios secured a deserved victory over Patriotas Almagro in a match that reflected the balance of power between the two teams. The final 2-1 was a faithful representation of what happened on the pitch: two evenly matched 4-4-2 formations that gave nothing away, with the home side making better use of their moments of clarity and settling the match through Ezequiel Rotondi, who scored a brace with the help of a striker who knows the measure of a goal. The home side controlled the tempo of the match without requiring any extravagant displays, while the visitors never stopped threatening but lacked the accuracy needed to take away anything more than the applause of their supporters.

Rotondi was the architect of the parque patriciota victory. At thirty, the striker showed the experience that only years in league football can provide: anticipation, intelligent positioning and reading of the game. His 8.1 rating was justified on that pitch. Patriotas Almagro found an answer in Horacio Galván, a nineteen-year-old winger who scored despite his youth and added pace to the visitors' attacking area, with an assist from Rodrigo Guerrero on the right flank. Samuel Tossi, the thirty-two-year-old midfielder from Corrientes, once again acted as the stabilising presence in the home midfield, although he was booked for a strong challenge in the second half. Rotondi also saw a yellow card, suggesting that the referee kept tight control of the match.

What Patriotas Almagro are left with is the feeling of having won the match on the tactics board but lost it in execution. Galván showed potential but needs consistency, while Guerrero fulfilled his role without shining. For CR Parque Patricios, this victory on the ninth matchday of Primera I - GBA Oeste confirms that modest squads with veteran leadership in attack can sustain results in a league where everyone is fighting for the same thing: competitive survival.
