Sociedad Parque Chacabuco1 - 2Estrella Agronomía

Estrella Agronomía secured a deserved victory in Parque Chacabuco, winning 2-1 in a match where both teams lined up with similar systems but showed different composure when it came to dealing with chances. Sociedad Parque Chacabuco looked to attack from the start but could not find fluency in midfield, while the visitors knew how to exploit the space with an effectiveness that the home side struggled to contain. Ronaldo Ponce, the eighteen-year-old defensive midfielder who grew up playing on the rough pitches of the delta, where space is a luxury, opened the scoring for Estrella. The youngster read the game before it unfolded, as is often the case with those raised in tight surroundings. Loly Venturini then scored from the right flank, the scarred footballer who carries the history of the south in every movement. Sociedad Parque Chacabuco’s response came from Marcos Bidegain, the twenty-nine-year-old Mendoza-born central midfielder who dictated play with his trademark composure, although on this occasion it was not enough to keep his team going in the final stage.

Lalo Ferreira, Sociedad Parque Chacabuco’s centre-back, put in a good defensive performance and provided an assist that did not lead to any more goals. The twenty-year-old defender, schooled in the defensive discipline he learned in Resistencia, was involved in the important moments. However, Isaac Mendoza in the visiting defence and especially Néstor Aranzeta between the posts kept Estrella Agronomía solid. The twenty-one-year-old goalkeeper, who carries childhood memories from Mendoza, closed down the spaces well when necessary. Bastian Lima, the ambidextrous midfielder from Rosario, was key to Estrella Agronomía’s build-up, giving continuity to a team that managed to maintain control without being spectacular.

The result leaves Sociedad Parque Chacabuco feeling that they have dropped valuable points at home. Estrella Agronomía, meanwhile, pulls clear at the top end of Primera L - GBA Norte. A close but deserved victory, where effectiveness proved the difference.
