Bastión Kawaii
2 - 1
City Clodo Fc
Match report
Boca Cerrada took all three points in a match where balance was the constant, although the home side managed to make the most of home advantage at key moments. Manchester Hambriento arrived as the away side with clear intentions, but the hosts knew how to manage the tempo and make their chances count. With both teams set up in a 4-4-2 and on similar mentalities, the contest was decided by the details: León Beristain opened the scoring for Boca Cerrada with a goal that reflected the efficiency of the home side. At 34, the striker from Bahía Blanca still has the instinct needed in the box. Sasha Tello, the same age but still very much on the pace, extended the lead and added what seemed a comfortable cushion. In the middle, Ciro Rubinstein made the game tick from midfield with the lucidity expected of him at 25, although he picked up a yellow card for his intensity.
Manchester Hambriento did not give in. Wilfredo Savini, the midfielder from Comodoro Rivadavia, pulled one back for the away side with a goal that rekindled hope. His 7.2 rating showed that the man from La Rioja maintained an attacking presence despite playing away from home. Camilo Bonifazi, the 34-year-old Chilean right-back who props up Boca Cerrada in defence, had to stay alert in the closing stages and was booked for his defensive work. Rodrigo Bigi, the Brazilian centre-back who is just 23, carried out his holding role without any major fuss.
The match ended with a slight home advantage, with neither side finding attacking fluency in the final minutes. It was a fair result for the opening matchday, with Boca Cerrada making the most of home advantage and Manchester Hambriento, despite the defeat, showing enough to avoid leaving empty-handed in the standings.
