AC Villa Riachuelo dominated from start to finish on their pitch and beat Real Caballito Reservas 2-0 in a match where the difference in performance was clear. The hosts deployed a balanced 4-4-2 formation that worked without any alarms, while the visitors tried something similar but never found a way to trouble the Riachuelo defence. Bautista Zarate scored from midfield — at 33, he remains effective in helping build play — and Aníbal Brancato rounded off the scoring with his goal and an assist that confirmed why he remains the team’s attacking leader.
Yanis Zola, the 32-year-old goalkeeper from Mendoza who became more than a substitute when they signed him in 2018, had little to do but was there when needed. In defence, Gabriel Zerbi showed his trademark precision in the tackle and communicated with the back line like someone organising more than just a simple wall of bodies. Full-back Joaquín Zola, the 16-year-old youngster who arrived from Porto Alegre, also contributed without fuss. At the other end, Chino Aldecoa tried to organise Caballito Reservas’ lines, but Brazilian central midfielder Tiago Bravo never found the right rhythm. Facundo Berazadi persevered up front but lacked clear combinations to help him create danger.
The comfortable victory consolidates Villa Riachuelo’s position in Primera L - GBA Norte. Real Caballito Reservas suffer a defeat that exposes their limitations: a team of modest ratings in which the 6.5s of their key figures are not enough to compete with squads that maintain their identity with greater conviction. For the winners, this was proof that their tactical balance remains a strength that is difficult to break down.
