Montserrat came to La Boca with a no-nonsense plan and left with the three points in the bag. Two evenly matched sides, two identical 4-4-2 shapes, a match settled by the fine details. Círculo La Boca could have won; C. y Barrio Montserrat were more efficient and that is why they take the victory. Bauti Anchorena scored the home side's consolation goal on matchday 10 of the Primera L - GBA Norte, but it was not enough. An experienced Uruguayan central midfielder at right-back and a tactical chess match without any great fanfare decided the game.
Damian Tévez, the 24-year-old Montevideo right-back with a rating of 7.6, was the visitors' most dangerous player. His work down the right flank created space that Montserrat knew how to use. Gino Silvestre, a 33-year-old forward born in Patagonia, netted one of the visitors' two goals with the precision of someone who knows how to read the game. In midfield, Damian Vigliani (rating 7.4) was a reliable shield although he picked up a yellow card in a tactical match where stoppages set the rhythm. Lorenzo Arrizabalaga, creative and sharp in his interventions, knitted the visitors' play together from advanced midfield. Anchorena pulled one back for Círculo La Boca with a rating of 6.9, decent but without the spark the home side needed to change the course of the game.
The match was decided more by quality than by possession. Montserrat were not brilliant but they were lethal; they managed the tempo, did not rush, and in quick transitions found the goals. Círculo La Boca created chances without converting most of them, and that inefficiency ultimately condemned them. Joel Martín at left-back for the visitors added versatility and surprise, qualities the La Boca side could not consistently counter. A deserved win in a tight match, as the report says, where the visitors were more clinical in their final decisions.
