Match report
Nueva Estrella Floresta left no room for surprises in Floresta. Against Sportivo Once Norte, the home side put in a performance from another level and ran out 5-0 winners, summing up without room for doubt the gulf in quality between the two squads in this Primera I of GBA Oeste. Both teams lined up in symmetrical 4-4-2 formations with a balanced mentality, but the pitch showed that the paperwork does not always count when there is such an imbalance of talent on the field.
Samuel Pawlak was the main executioner of the afternoon. The 24-year-old forward from Comodoro Rivadavia, with an 8.4 rating, scored twice and was a constant ghost haunting the visitors’ defence. Alongside him, Santino Palomeque also produced an outstanding display, scoring twice from midfield. Full-back Oliverio Romano, another product of Comodoro Rivadavia, chipped in with a goal and an assist, while Nahue Burrini in goal was merely a spectator to the visitors’ downfall. Sportivo Once Norte never found their rhythm. Valentino Bevilacqua, the 24-year-old central midfielder, tried to provide cover from the middle, but his 6.7 rating says it all: a tidy-up player who cannot hold a structure together when attacks keep raining down. Jeremías Bernasconi, the 30-year-old striker from Bahía Blanca, barely had any chances and ended up being booked without managing to pose a threat.
What happened in Floresta was less a match than a football lesson. Nueva Estrella Floresta are operating at a level that allows them to rack up results like this against visitors who came to compete but simply lacked the quality. For Once Norte, the only useful lesson is to recognise that some opponents are simply too much for this division.
