Match report

AD Recoleta comfortably beat Central de Belgrano R El Barrio in a match where the home side managed their tactical approach without too many scares. The final 2-0 scoreline reflected not only a victory, but the sustained dominance of a team that performed within its capabilities, far from brilliant but possessing the solidity demanded by Primera I del GBA Oeste on matchday 11. Central de Belgrano came to play on equal terms tactically — both sides used a balanced 4-4-2 — but lacked the precision needed to trouble a Recoleta side that found its chances and converted them without fuss.

Jonathan Mariño was the home side’s most incisive player, providing two assists that ended up in the net and showing why, at just twenty-one, he has already accumulated minutes at this level. Ramiro Morales, the twenty-three-year-old Bolivian left-back, also got on the scoresheet for the home team. Joaco Roman had little to do in the Recoleta goal — rating 7.7 — but responded without difficulty when called upon. The home defence remained compact; Augusto Vázquez on the right did his job without any trouble, while the centre-backs comfortably contained a visiting attack that never found any width. Marcelo Zelaya, the thirty-three-year-old midfielder who brings his experience to Recoleta’s midfield, was booked for protesting, something typical of his veteran status.

For Central de Belgrano, Rolando Stankovic and Elías Lobos did what they could in defence, but were unable to stop the home side’s movements. Thiago Bargnesi, the twenty-six-year-old right winger, found no space to break through on his flank. It was a match in which Recoleta made the most of home advantage without needing any extraordinary exertion, winning with the necessary efficiency. For Central de Belgrano, the defeat offers few new tactical lessons; they simply were not there.
