Fatigue has a new system: the worse it gets, the quicker you recover

This change gives you more flexibility when managing your squad. Daily fatigue recovery is no longer a fixed number for everyone; it now depends on how exhausted each player is. It sounds backwards, but that’s how it works: the more tired a player is, the more energy they recover each day. Why? Because the body adapts in real life, that’s why. So if a first-team player is shattered after several matches in a row, he’s no longer condemned to spend days dragging himself around.

Before, things were more rigid. A player recovered 12 fatigue points a day, whether he had 80 or 20. Now the formula has changed: he recovers 8 plus 25 per cent of his current fatigue. That means if someone finishes the weekend with 80 fatigue, he recovers 28 points a day. If it drops to 40, he recovers 18. At 20, it’s 13. So first-team players who used to get stuck at 100 now have a quicker way out.

The extras stay the same

Naturally, the bonuses you already know still work in exactly the same way. Your fitness coach continues to add 2 points per level, while the stadium changing rooms and gym still provide 1 extra point each. What has changed is the base figure, not the add-ons. The old rules also remain in place: there is no recovery on the day after an official match, a player left out of the squad recovers his fixed 15, and a player named on the bench who does not come on recovers 10.

You can see all this in the squad’s fitness section, where you’ve always kept an eye on these figures. They now offer more room to manoeuvre and more dynamism. The change is designed to make rotation and workload management more strategic: leaving someone out to rest is no longer quite so dramatic, because a very tired player will recover more quickly.

If you haven’t started playing yet, this is another example of how the game continues to be refined to reflect the reality of Argentine football. And if you’re already on the pitch as manager, it’s time to recalibrate your rotation and see how you can make the most of this new dynamic. Get into the game and see how it changes your tactics.
