How the Youth Tournament will work in Season 3
From Season 3, youngsters will have their own proper championship, using the same structure as the senior team.

The youngsters get a big tournament too
From Season 3, youngsters will have their own proper championship, using the same structure as the senior team. No weird draws or formats that change every week: your lads will play home and away against the youngsters from the 16 clubs in your league over the 30 matchdays of the season, exactly as you do in Primera. If your team goes up or down a division, the youth side goes with you. In other words, the academy really will be tied to the project.
The matches are always played in the morning, between 7 and 12 in your country, and each league keeps the same kick-off window. So you’ll know when to follow your youngsters without any surprises. When you play another manager yourself, the match is live with the game’s real engine; if both clubs are run by the computer, it’s settled straight away without you having to wait.

The prizes are waiting
Things get interesting in the knockout stages. The 32 youth champions with the best records in their leagues go into a Country Final, with one round per day at 11:00. The winner takes home 12 million pesos and a gem for the academy. After that, the champions from each country (plus the best runners-up to make up 16 teams) play the Copa Juvenil de América to decide the best youth side on the continent: 15 million and another gem.
Any titles you win with the youngsters go straight into the Trophy Cabinet, and here’s the key bit: the minutes they play in these tournaments will keep speeding up your youngsters’ growth. The more they play, the faster they develop. It’s not just about competition, it’s a real incentive to build an academy that works.
The current edition of the game will carry on with the old system until its Country Final, so there’s still time to get ready. But from Season 3 the new format comes into force. If you’re not playing yet, this is a good time to get involved: you can start planning your youth set-up now. And if you’re already a manager, you already know where to find your youth league: in the Youth League section of the game.
