Loans: now by season and with no funny business
ELDT managers have been asking for clearer loan rules for ages, and here’s the answer.

Loans are getting sorted
ELDT managers have been asking for clearer rules on loans for ages, and here’s the answer. From now on, loans work in one way only: until the end of the season, with no turning back and no surprises. The idea is simple: nobody gets to game the system, and we all play by the same rules. If you want to strengthen your squad with someone else’s player, you’ll know exactly what it costs and for how long.
The one-time rule
Here’s the important bit: each player can only be loaned once per season. If you loan him and then send him back before the season ends, you can’t ask for him again until next season. The same goes between two clubs: if there’s already a loan between your team and another one, that’s it until next year. And one more thing: you can’t cheat by using linked accounts. If it’s your other account, there’s no deal to be done.

The fee side has been fixed too. The maximum cost is 1% of the player’s value for every week left in the season. That means if you loan him for the full season (15 weeks), you’ll pay at most 15% of his value. You can always see exactly how many weeks are left, so there are no surprises.
But there are more protections as well. A loaned player can’t be sold or put into private bids while he’s at another club. If he comes back earlier than planned, if the manager who has him sacks him, or if his contract runs out, the player automatically returns to his club. That way nobody loses their footballer.
Loans that are already active, or that you’ve already listed, won’t change: they’ll run until they finish under the terms you agreed. The new system kicks in right now for any deals you make from this point on.
If you’re not playing yet, this is a good moment to get involved. Head to the Loans section in ELDT and give the system a go. For those of you already in, it’s time to strengthen the team without worrying.
