Primera Nacional (second tier) - Zone B: Matchday 15 review

A superb Atlético Campana performance in Dolores saw them win 4-2 and move into the promotion race, sitting fifth with 23 points. The Campana side came to play and made their intentions clear from the first half — exactly what they needed to break into the leading pack. Defensores de Dolores were left reeling after that home defeat.

Sportivo Necochea remain firmly at the top with 30 points, although they had few problems this matchday. They beat Sportivo Roque Pérez 1-0 in a game where they did not need to work any magic to take all three points. Defensores de Olavarría are right behind them on 27 points, after drawing 2-2 with Defensores de Las Flores in a match that left both sides feeling they had missed out.

There were a few smaller but interesting changes elsewhere on the fixture list. Defensores de Ensenada could not make home advantage count and had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Sportivo Brandsen. Club Chascomús beat Atlético La Plata FC 1-0 at home, while Atlético Magdalena recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Club Punta Alta. Sportivo City Bell and Defensores de Pehuajó shared the points in a goalless draw.

So the next matchday will be crucial in seeing whether Necochea can hold on to top spot, or whether one of the chasing pack can close the gap in what is becoming an increasingly tight promotion battle.
