Primera Nacional Zona B: Matchday 11 results and table

Defensores de Tristán Suárez remain unstoppable at the top, and Matchday 11 confirmed it once again: they beat Sportivo City Bell 1-0 in a game where the leaders never let up. With nine wins and two draws, Tristán Suárez are practically a steamroller in Zona B and have already opened up a significant lead. But the biggest talking point was Sportivo Necochea’s thumping win, putting 3 past Defensores de Pehuajó to stay second on 23 points, although they now have two defeats on their record. Sportivo Constitución and Sportivo Roque Pérez are trying to join the title race, but Roque Pérez suffered a nasty blow: they lost 1-0 at home to Defensores de Olavarría, a painful result as they continue to struggle for a response.

In the mid-table scrap and down at the bottom, the results were all over the place. Atlético La Plata FC, who are fighting to avoid relegation, climbed out of trouble with a thrilling 3-2 win at Berisso; Defensores de Las Flores picked up three crucial points by beating Sportivo Constitución 1-0, while Defensores de Ensenada did the business with a 2-1 win over Defensores de Dolores. Atlético Campana also enjoyed their moment in the sun, beating Sportivo Caballito 2-1, and Club Chascomús secured a clean 2-0 win over Sportivo Brandsen. The surprise result came from Defensores de Olavarría, who remain near the bottom of the table despite winning, while Berisso and Atlético La Plata are still in the danger zone, although they have chances to escape.

The numbers show it was a lively Matchday 11: nineteen goals in eight matches, so there was plenty of quality football on show. Defensores de Tristán Suárez are looking for more, Sportivo Necochea are trying to catch them, and everyone at the bottom is fighting tooth and nail because relegation is nobody’s idea of fun. Bring on Matchday 12 — this is getting spicier by the week.
