Primera Nacional Zone B: Matchday 9 results and table

Defensores de Tristán Suárez keep powering on in Zone B, thrashing Atlético Campana 4-0 in a result they will not forget in a hurry. The leaders sit on 25 points and remain unbeaten, although plenty of credit must go to the defence keeping this near-perfect run on track. Meanwhile, Sportivo Roque Pérez refused to be left behind, beating Sportivo Caballito 2-1 to move on to 22 points and stay in the hunt. The surprise result was Sportivo Necochea's 3-1 win over Sportivo Brandsen, giving the table a bit of a shake-up as they moved to 19 points and closed the gap on the sides above. Defensores de Las Flores are also climbing the upper reaches after seeing off Sportivo City Bell 3-2 in one of those matches that leaves you holding your breath.

The sides battling in mid-table continue to make their moves, but cautiously. Sportivo Constitución keep picking up points one at a time, drawing 1-1 with Club Berisso in a match that offered little in the way of clear chances; Constitución are third on 19 points and seem to be going from one draw to the next. Defensores de Dolores also had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Defensores de Olavarría, with both clubs locked in a battle to avoid being left on the floor.

At the bottom, things remain all over the place. Club Berisso and Defensores de Olavarría are still in the danger zone on just 5 points each, while Atlético La Plata FC hit rock bottom with 4 points after losing 2-0 to Club Chascomús. They need to turn things around quickly, otherwise any recovery will become an uphill task. Defensores de Ensenada salvaged a little pride for the teams at the wrong end of the table by beating Defensores de Pehuajó 1-0, although the truth is that everyone in this group is fighting to avoid going under.

Matchday 10 is on the way, and the teams at the top will need to stay sharp because Zone B shows no mercy.
