In a match where both teams played with similar set-ups and neither was prepared to yield ground, Club Monte Castro and Aurora de Coghlan shared the points in honour even conditions. The 1-1 draw was a fair reflection of what happened on the pitch: two balanced 4-4-2 formations that cancelled each other out, with moments of clarity but not enough cutting edge to tip the scales either way.
Javier Troncón opened the scoring for the home side with a goal that showed his ability in the air, the quality that has defined him for years. Gabi Benassi, the home team's right-back, played a part in the opener with an assist that was not gratis in a context where Aurora de Coghlan remained compact in defence. However, the visitors' response came without delay: Maicol Paredes, a centre-half in the Coghlan side, found the net and restored parity with a goal that speaks to the attacking contribution centre-backs can provide from set-piece situations. Felipe Coelho helped in that move from left midfield. Franco Barbano in the home goal made a few key interventions, while Bruno Avanzi, the visitors' goalkeeper at only sixteen years old, stayed alert. Nilo Curi was booked in the visitors' defence, a sign of the physical contact that characterised the game. Xavier Altolaguirre in midfield and Cristian Piotrowski up front kept looking to create space, though without the expected results.
The result leaves points on the table for both sides, but it reflects different realities. Monte Castro played at home without being able to make full use of home advantage beyond the opening goal. Aurora de Coghlan took a valuable draw from difficult territory, with a side that showed defensive maturity and the ability to respond when needed.
