Match report
Sociedad Parque Centenario did not need to be pushed hard to tame Social y Deportivo Villa Riachuelo on matchday 10 of Primera L - GBA Sur. A clean 2-0, without scares, which confirmed the home side’s superiority in a match where both squads set out with similar structures but with different levels of efficiency. The side led by ELDT found the ways to break the visitors’ resistance with a solid display that left no room for surprises, while Villa Riachuelo barely managed to trouble Damián Rainoldi.
The architect of the win was Leonel Marín, a midfielder of only 20 years old who scored a goal and provided an assist on a night when he showed why so many are keeping a close eye on him. With that rifle in his boots inherited from the dirt pitches of Patagonia, Marín moved with ease through the centenary midfield and was the spark for the home attacks. In defence, Aaron Vera cemented his place at centre-back with a secure performance, while Gustavo Saracho also left his mark with a goal that stretched the lead. Uriel Schiavi, a 27-year-old forward developed in the province’s academy, ended up booked but fulfilled his role in the defensive block. For the visitors, Franco Raffaeli and Cristian Iturriaga at full-back barely offered any attacking threat, and Fabián Pedraza, the 17-year-old centre-back, was exposed by the home side’s tactical clarity.
The result seals a positive spell for Parque Centenario, who took advantage of the parity of systems to impose their game without needing to be flamboyant. Villa Riachuelo leave without clear answers: they played on equal terms in structure but ran out of ideas in attack, that which defines whether matches are won or lost in football.
