Match report
Central de Belgrano R El Barrio and Argentinos de Barracas shared the points in a match where balance was the order of the day. The 1-1 draw at the Belgrano neighbourhood pitch reflected two evenly matched squads in their approach: both opted for a 4-4-2 and a balanced mentality, resulting in a match without any major scares, but not without tension either. Sebastián Aizpurúa opened the scoring for the hosts with a goal that allowed the team to dream of taking all three points, but Octavio Ponce, the 36-year-old visiting forward who has covered every inch of the pitch, appeared when his team needed him most and sealed the equaliser. Two experienced goals from either side, scored by two footballers who know where to strike.
The afternoon was one of mutual control. Elías Lobos in the hosts' defence showed his solidity with a rating of 7.2, although he could not prevent Ponce from finding space. In midfield, Adrián Sequeira worked tirelessly for Central, picking up a yellow card for his intensity, while Felipe Caparros of Argentinos distributed assists intelligently at the age of nineteen, showing that youth also has a place in this type of match. Matías Levin, a 36-year-old veteran on the left flank of the home side, fulfilled his role without fuss. Javier Wolf up front could not find the space he needed, perhaps hampered by the containment provided by Lalo Bastianelli from the opposition flank.
The yellow cards for Lobos, Sequeira and Aizpurúa of Central set the tempo of a battle with no outright winners. Argentinos left satisfied with a point away from home; Central may have felt there was more to take. A point apiece on matchday 4 of Primera I GBA Oeste, a draw that neither disappointed nor thrilled, but kept both sides' chances in the competition alive.
